Why AMD Ryzen servers
What AMD Ryzen servers are good at.
Clock speed firstBoost clocks of 5.1 to 5.7 GHz. Game servers, PHP and Node.js apps, compilers and most databases are bound by single-thread speed.
3D V-Cache on the 9950X3D128 MB of L3 cache keeps more of a simulation or game world close to the cores, which steadies tick rates on heavy servers.
DDR5 and NVMe everywhereTwo NVMe drives in every Ryzen server, mirrored by default, and DDR5 memory from 32 to 192 GB.
Lowest entry priceA 6-core Zen 4 with 32 GB and a 10 Gbps unmetered port for $55 a month.

FAQ
AMD Ryzen servers: questions, answered.
Still have a question? Customers with an active server get answers from engineers in a support ticket.
Support ticketsIs non-ECC memory a problem for a server?
For stateless workloads such as game servers, web front ends and CI runners it rarely matters, and it is why Ryzen is so affordable. For databases that must never silently corrupt data, or long-running virtualization hosts, we recommend ECC memory on EPYC or Xeon.
Ryzen 9 9950X or 9950X3D?
Same 16 cores and clocks. The X3D adds 64 MB of stacked L3 cache (128 MB in total), which helps workloads with large working sets such as game simulations and some databases. For compiling or rendering, the regular 9950X is as fast and costs less.
Can I run virtual machines on a Ryzen server?
Yes. AMD-V and IOMMU are enabled, and Proxmox VE is a one-click install. For many VMs with lots of memory, EPYC gives you more cores, ECC and far more RAM.
Which Ryzen locations are in stock?
