Latency

Typical round-trip times between our cities.

Useful for multi-city setups: replication, failover and CDN edges. Values in milliseconds, rounded; real latency depends on routing at any given time.

Choosing

Three questions to pick the right city.

  • Where are your users?Latency grows with distance. Users notice it above about 60–80 ms for games and 150 ms for interactive apps; each city page lists typical latency to nearby metros.

  • Which law should apply?Data stored in a city is subject to that country’s law: GDPR in the EU, UK GDPR in London, the FADP in Zürich, US law in US cities.

  • Is your configuration there?Amsterdam and Frankfurt carry every configuration. Elsewhere, check the city page.

Facilities

The same standards in every city.

We only rack servers in carrier-neutral facilities that meet these baseline requirements.

  • Redundant powerUPS systems and on-site generators behind every rack.

  • N+1 coolingCooling with spare capacity, monitored around the clock.

  • 24/7 securityStaffed security, access control and video surveillance.

  • Remote handsOn-site technicians for disk swaps and hardware work, day and night.

  • Carrier-neutralMany networks in the building, so we can choose the best transit.

  • Fire protectionEarly smoke detection and gas-based or pre-action suppression.

Support tickets
How do I choose a location?

Start with latency: pick the city closest to most of your users; each city page lists typical latency to nearby metros. Then check the jurisdiction you want your data in, and whether the configuration you need is available there.

Can I move a server to another location later?

Servers cannot be moved live between cities. Order a server in the new location, migrate your data over the 10 Gbps unmetered network, then cancel the old one; you only pay for the overlap.

Will my IP address geolocate to the right country?

Yes. Addresses are registered to the country of the location. Commercial geolocation databases can take a few weeks to update after an address moves; open a support ticket if one is wrong.

Are all configurations available everywhere?

No. Amsterdam and Frankfurt carry all 18 configurations; other cities carry a selection. Each city page shows exactly what is available there.

Who operates the data centers?

Our servers are in carrier-neutral facilities run by established data center operators, with redundant power and cooling, 24/7 security and on-site technicians.
